Thanks for the comments. Adopting Creative Commons is certainly the way to go and more and more people in the UNU are using these licenses. So I think pretty soon the entire intellectual property of the university will change to incorporate Creative Commons as the core of what we do. Could be as soon as the next UNU Council meeting in December. I hope so.

You may want to check out George Siemens at University of Manitoba in Canada.
http://www.umanitoba.ca/academic_support/ltc/

George made a videoconference presentation at our recent seminar for MA ePedagogy Design in Helsinki. Although he talked more about Connectivism in his presnetation, after looking him up I saw that his department are undertaking a project within the institution for a digital repository which has the option for creative commons.

This is an extraordinarily important development. We at CC were very proud when MIT adopted CC licenses for all their courses (and by the end of this year, every MIT course will be online under a CC-BY-NC license). But I am especially proud than the UNU has taken this step. The UNU is, in my view, the most important international educational institution, symbolizing in practice and ideals, a world community. To see CC as part of that community is very rewarding to us, and our movement.
