The plugin, WP_Multilingual, allows users of Wordpress to publish blogs in more than one language in an easy and straight forward manner. After quite a bit of testing we finally have it up and running successfully. It is installed on 3 our our wordpress sites (this one, the Voices of the Chichinautzin and the UNU Online Learning website). Features of the plugin inlcude: Built in language switch for switching between languages of any post or page. You can download WP_Multilingual Here. Let us know what you think. |

Hey Sean! This is great! Any chance of language support for Finnish too?
Hi Gerard, i am author of plugin. if you can make translation you will get support Finnish =)
msg me at ICQ (318183), or email qwerty@qwerty.co.ua
Hi,
do you plan to have full translation when we switch language? There are still things not translated in the interface thus it is not a true multilingual support.
Also, language attributes are not included in the code, preventing good accessibility on pages… this can be confusing when using a screen reader.
Do you plan to improve that in a future version?
Thank you
this is a great plugin.. but it seems doesnt work with widgets… any clues?
Hi Patrick and Lefteris,
Thanks for your comments. You can get more feedback from Oleg. He has done all the programming for the plug-in and can explain how it works and whether it works with widgets. Send him an email to qwerty@qwerty.co.ua
For our blog, we decided not to translate some parts into Japanese, especially when we felt the meaning was pretty obvious. But we could ahve made it 100% Japanese if we had wanted. At least, that is my understanding.
Anyway, feedback most appreciated.

Hi,
I just installed the wp_multilingual and think it’s a great tool. I have an important (for me) question though, How can I incorporate the plugin to allow me to translate (display in two languages) headins and buttons and so forth in my theme file. There was a brief mention of this in the Plugin Support site but it was a little confusing to me. For example, I have a mini slide show imbedded in my sidebar. The heading is “Mini Slide Show” and is hard-coded into my sidebar.php. I’d like to know if I could use this plugin to automatically present the alternate language version when I switch languages. For example to show “Kleines Diashow” when the user switches to German.
Thanks and I’d like to support your work if I can get this plugin properly figured out.
Markus
Hi Markus,
Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated.
The best way to get an answer is to post you request for support on the Wordpress Forums. If you will follow this link, you can see that the developer normally responds within a day or two.
